Cicada Killers

Cicada Killers are the largest wasps that you will see in North America. Their populations will increase and decrease depending on how many cicadas are present in a particular year. They nest in a group in a bank or hill, each wasp having her own nest in the dirt. Although capable of a painful sting, they are not aggressive and rarely come into contact with humans or pets.
